Walked the blues (71.6/128/6628) this morning 10/30/2017 at 11:20am with my buddy Matt joined by two nice singles Ray and Bob. Weather was perfect golf weather high 60’s little to no wind. POP was pretty brutal for a late Monday morning at 5 hours–didn’t help that a foursome 2 groups ahead of everyone split up as 2 twosomes with a packed tee sheet. We paid $29.00 which is their mid-day walking rate Monday through Thursday. Very nice staff checking us in, very nice putting green similar to greens on course, nice separate chipping area and basically a dirt range.
The greens were in great shape, rolling true with no bounces and holding shots nicely. I barely saw any extra divots today to fix. Would say they were semi-quick maybe rolling a 10.5 or so on the stimp. Rating 8/10
The fairways are still semi-lush with good overall coverage. Rated 7/10
The tees are mostly all level and in good shape. Rated 7.5/10
The greenside rough is in good shape, mostly green and lush and thick. The fairway rough just off the fairways remains a mixed bag—get further off the fairways near the cartpaths and you could have a bare dirt or hardpan lie. Greenside rough rating 7.5/10–fairway rough 6/10.
Sand was in good shape, raked and just enough sand in the two greenside bunkers that I was in today.
Always a pleasure to play Rustic, fun, challenging and reasonably priced.
