Played June 3. This is the “unknown” course at the AF Academy. Most of the accolades go to the Blue. But don’t miss this one, if you are in the area. The Silver, unlike the Blue, has a lot more elevation changes to it. Truly an enjoyable play. The day before when we played the Blue, we experienced a torrential rain storm, that had play suspended for over an hour (had forgotten what that experience is like and do not miss it) but we found the Silver course to be very playable.

Tee boxes all clean and mostly level and no issues. Fairways were lush/green and even with the rain previously, provided good roll, not to mention “pristine” lies (something hard to find in CA public courses).

Bunkers were actually OK (even with the rain).

Rough was tall/tough/thick and lots of OB’s to contend with, if you sprayed your tee shots (fairways are generous though).

Greens were fast, undulating, large and you “never” wanted to be above the hole.

While the blue gets most of the play here, the Silver course more than holds it own. Highly recommended.
