Played MPCC mid morning on Wednesday, 12/27 as a single. I was partnered with two great guys. One was a retired LAPD homicide detective and the other a retired FBI agent. Very cool. Overall the course is in good shape. Most of the grass is dormant, with a mix of green and brown. As stated earlier by another reviewer, they have dyed some of the areas a light green. However, it doesn’t affect play. The fairways are not thin. They have a nice cushion to hit from. The rough is short, with some areas having longer grass. Generally about 1 – 2 inches in length. I was in one fairway bunker and one greenside bunker. Both had very adequate sand that was on the firm side. Easy to hit from. The greens were quite fast and rolled nicely. Only a few of the tee boxes were a little shaggy, but mostly they were fine. The course is very playable and enjoyable.
