Played the Lakes course on 10/28/17.  It was about a month after over-seeding was done.

I was a bit wary after seeing many negative reviews, but the course was fine. Nice fairways, even coverage of sand in the traps I saw, and the greens rolled true, if only a bit slow.

If I was feeling nitpicky I’d point out that there were a few browned out spots on some fairways, and the tee boxes were a bit bumpier than I generally prefer. But the biggest knock overall was the unrepaired ball marks on greens which is not the fault of the golf course. They were everywhere, and the greens were soft enough that they were fairly deep. I fixed at least 3 per hole it seemed.

At $49 via GolfNow hot deal and a 4:15 pace on a nice sunny day, it made for an enjoyable afternoon.

The staff were all friendly and the food in the lounge was decent. There is a nice short game practice area here too, with two greens, one with bunkers and one with room for 50-yard pitches. I’ll come back the next time I’m driving to Vegas and looking to play.
