#GolfCourseReview @SandpiperGolf Goleta California

Played the Golds (6646/72.6/130) with 140ver, Pat & Mark in clear sunny, calm conditions around 75F. We let one three-some play through and got around in 4H:45M.
This is the best condition I have ever seen Sandpiper!
The tees were lush with excellent coverage. Only the par 3’s needed divot repair.
The Bermuda fairways were lush bordering on excellent. The few I hit were great to play from.
The rough was very good but more hit and miss. Thicker closer to the fairways, with everything from hard-pan to lush Bermuda all the way to thick Kikuyu the farther you were from the fairway.
The fairway bunkers were firm brown dirt and okay to play from. The green side bunkers were part thick, medium brown dirt (not sand) that was well maintained and generally good to play from. However, several traps had large areas of water/mud from water collecting from nearby watering and were marked as Ground Under Repair (GUR.)
The greens were firm and fast. Above the hole was almost unplayable at times. A lot of slope on these green complexes, not only back to front but also from side to side.
The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. The Pro Shop/Starter, cart attendants and the ever present cart gal were all great. We had lunch in the restaurant onsite. Good food even if pricey. Always enjoy this layout.
