The course is in great shape and has held up well to the summer heat of the last couple of weeks. Fairways have been lush and carpet like. The rough is up and they added a nice “1st cut” on most holes. Even without rakes, the sand has been good, unless you land in a foot print from earlier in the day, but they get maintenance every morning. A few of the greens have a light dusting of sand but they are fairly smooth and a nice medium/fast pace.

Only issue is the wet fairways early in morning, with some soggy areas.

With single rider carts, pace has been well below 4 hours since 5/1. The bar/grill opens with the course, the snack bars open at 8 along with the drink cart.

Played on Saturday, 1/4, with a 10:15 tee time with a high school buddy and paired up with a local dad and his son. Paid $49 with the OB card. I was a little scared of the mid morning weekend start but we finished in 4:10, waiting on the group ahead, who had no one in front of them.

Conditions were excellent for early January. Hopefully, one of these days they’ll level off the tee boxes that have been built up from years of divot fills, but that was the only complaint. Fairways have complete coverage with no dirt areas. Rough is cut short this time of year, so barely over an inch or so. Sand is better than normal for a Vegas course. Greens were just great. Smooth, some unrepaired ball marks, and fast. The hole on 16 was the most unfair placement I’ve ever seen, no shot of stopping it close, either in or roll 20 feet away.

Palm is an excellent course to build your confidence. Not long on the card, but all the par 3s are over 150 with trouble everywhere. Greens are small and tricky. Fun course to play and bet on.

My Pal and I were the only two out early and let a fast twosome by us on the 8th hole so we could enjoy the play.

First time for me playing Angel Park and was met in the darkness by a friendly worker that brought us a cart, bought some coffee and some muffins for us from the awesome bar keep, Peggy.

Starter let us go early, tee boxes were fine, had to hunt a bit for a flat stance but not too hard to get a good spot to tee from.

Fairways were full and green so not much roll out.

Rough was full and no bare spots, bunkers were still wet from the overnight watering but I was in 6 of them all day and had no trouble getting the ball out with an open blade, greens were firm but very slow though I putted well but its scary to pound that ball to the target.

Overall the course was in great playing conditions in spite of the Las Vegas sun beating it up. I will return someday. Oh, I had 3 eagle chances and actually hit the pin on a side-hill slider putt and ended up two inches left of the hole. 5 birdies on the day really made it a fun round for me.

Played today, 7/18 as well as last Saturday, 7/13. Today was an almost noon tee time I found on the app about 30 minutes earlier, $30 with the OB card. On check in, I was told a couple of twosomes had gone out about 30 minutes earlier, but a bunch of foursomes ahead of them. I played the front in about 1:20, taking a break to eat at 6 when I caught the 1st twosome. By 10, the 2 Twosomes joined up since it was stacked in front of them, I invited a couple to join me but they declined. Finished in about 3:40 with a very slow back 9.

Conditions are really good right now. AP just hosted their annual Pro/Scratch, which is their highlight tourney. Course has retained their tourney feel. They added a 1st cut, which looks good and nice to hit from. Some dried out spots in the fairway but playable. Greens are in great shape, medium speed which I’m not use to, but they are smooth. The bunkers today were the only change from the weekend, dry and crusty versus loose and easy to hit from.

$30 is a steal right now. Course is in great shape.

Played on Friday, 2/8, at 9:30 with John_T. Course had a frost delay but any back-up was cleared up by the time we teed off and we didn’t see any delays. Joined a single on #2 and picked up another single on #5, as we chased a lackadaisical twosome around. Finished in just under 4 hours, actually waiting on every tee on the back.

Course conditions were very similar to Palm. Tee boxes need a little work, but nothing that affects play. Fairways were in great shape, firm with some run out. All green with no dirt areas. Rough was just long enough to define the fairway and not very penal. Bunkers had some work done in the last month or 2 and showed great improvement. Better than Vegas average sand. Greens were not as good as Palm’s greens yesterday. Very firm, but a shade slower and very bumpy. A couple of greens were showing thin areas.

Mountain is my home course, it’s a good test and has very tricky to read greens. Always fun.

Back on the home course on Saturday, 12/15. $50 with the OB Card, teed at 8:20ish, and finished in just over 3 1/2 hours with John_T and his dad.

Course was in great winter condition. Tee boxes mostly level, some divot damage. Fairways were lush, no thin spots, the re-seed has taken very well, except along the water on #2. Rough was 1-2 inches and fairly lush. New bunker sand is going well, saw them replacing some on the back. Greens were pretty good to great. Some ball marks, but mostly smooth, almost fast.

It’s winter so the migrating birds have homestead on 2 and 9, so there’s a chance of a poop ball. Weirdly, they like the 9th fairway over the 18th on the shared lake.

Always a fun time and a good challenge. 17 and 18 are a great finishing combo.

Played Saturday, 11/10, with a tee time just before 11 with John_T and his dad. Paid $45 with OB card and a 15% discount. Teed off a few minutes late on a busy day, felt like it took forever especially waiting on every tee (2 groups deep every hole of the back), but still finished in 4:10. Weird.

Course is in great winter condition. Some tee boxes need to be leveled but all playable. Fairways have fully grown in and lush. Rough (also re-seeded) was about 1-3 inches, depending on the hole. Bunkers are getting new sand and all were pretty fluffy. Greens were firm and as fast as I have seen them.

Another beautiful Vegas day on my home course. Course is very playable and worth a look.

Played on Friday, 8/10 at 3 for $22 (OB card). Walked on solo, paired up with a father/son who only played 9, then finished by myself, just under 3 hours total.

Course is showing the late summer heat wear and tear. Fairways are thinning out, with some mud areas (especially #2). Some greens have dead/dirt areas mostly around the edges, but most have 90% or more coverage.

Some cooler weather and next month’s reseed can not come soon enough, but for $20-30, definitely worth the price. If playing in the afternoon, stock up as there was no drink cart and the snack shack was closed, and the course is far from the clubhouse.
