About KemperSports

KemperSports was founded in 1978 by James Kemper, Jr. and Steven H. Lesnik. One of the company’s first projects was the development of Kemper Lakes Golf Course on the campus of Kemper Insurance in Long Grove, IL. Kemper Lakes received national acclaim as the host of the 1989 PGA Championship, the first public access course to do so in history.

From that successful beginning, our company steadily grew to become the most trusted name in golf by developing an award-winning portfolio that includes nationally-ranked courses and tournament venues. Today, we continue to develop and manage a broad range of private clubsgolf resortspublic golf courses and municipal golf courses, and we have expanded our management expertise to include conference centerslodging operations and recreational facilities.
